RIP Dennis

Dennis the wayward Mannatee, who found himself lost in Sesuit Harbor, died an undignified death on the back of a truck, Sunday. The tragedy unfolded after the 1,000lb Dennis was captured by a group of marine and wildlife experts and then placed on a truck to be transported to Seaworld in Orlando,Florida. One hour short of its destination, Dennis, passed away. The 20 hour trip was thwart with difficulties as manatees have such high body temperatures and need constant dousing with water. Unfortunately, Dennis had to be transported out of Sesuit harbor because he was showing signs of cold stress. Fork lifts, a canvas sling  and a big friggin truck where required to lift the gentle beast from the water. A spokesman for the International Fund for Animal Welfare said “Everything looked to be encouraging but then he just crashed and now we all feel like we had the rug pulled out from under us a little.” RIP big guy.
