I don’t know Mr Duverger, it sounds rather risky, do you really want to do it? One of Britain’s top chefs has put himself up for auction on eBay as a Christmas gift.Yep, that is right you can now bid for a four course Christmas meal for 8 people cooked by David Duverger,head chef of exclusive restaurant Papillon in Chelsea, in your own home (dear god get out the steel wool and Ajax!).Oh, but there is one catch, it will be a French Christmas dinner so you will have to kiss your Turkey and cranberry sauce goodbye.The reserve price for Mr Duverger’s meal is £800 and all proceeds will go to his favorite charity Children with Leukaemia.So my first question is, why doesn’t he have a family to go to? Well, it seems that his restaurant wants him working over the festive season and Christmas day is his only day off so he decided rather to get drunk by himself he would get drunk with eight complete strangers (fair enough)! It sounds like a friggin nightmare to me, carting the food to some god forsaken place, going into who knows what type of kitchen and having to converse with a bunch of strangers who will without doubt be mulling around the stove getting under his feet and asking stupid questions.Mr Duverger have you really thought this through?
